Return your stares calmly with a gleam.

Woe betide you new young teachers
We're bullying , bloodthirsty lot
We comment on your hair , dress and mannerisms
We do the teaching more often than not.

Marking test papers till late at night
You get so mad you fail us all
We fight for more marks the very next day
And make enough noise to drive you up at the wall.

We bombard you with questions so fantastic
Even Einstein couldn't answer them
And even where you're stuck , don't be surprised
To see us yawning , politely saying 'ahem',
But wait a minute , think of the fringe benefits.
A nine-hour day , a five-day week
An eleven week vacation , with salary too
Arrears from the scheme,
What more do you seek?

You roar and growl like lions and dragons
You stamp your feet and call us clots.
But we know you are human inside
With just a few detective blots.
